About Me

Hi! My name is Sophia Lala and I am the Exonian Pharaoh! I am a senior at Phillips Exeter Academy. I am fascinated by the Egyptian civilization and have been studying Egyptian Hieoglyphs since I was in middle school. I can read and write Hieroglyphs and my goal is to share this passion with the world. As part of that, I have started the Ancient Egypt Club at my school, and have taught Hieroglyphs classes to middle and high school students. I run an Instagram account where I post "Hieroglyphs Word of the Week" and "Weekly Fun Facts" about Egypt each week. Check it out @exonian.pharaoh. I host a 5-minute podcast series, "The Pharaoh's Palace", as well as a Public Access TV show, "Narmer's Palette". You can subscribe to my podcast by clicking on the "Listen Here" button below. Over the past three summers, I have completed three Hieroglyphs translation and research projects - on the Stele of Iretsekheru, Queen Hatshepsut's Punt Expedition text, and case #45 of the Edwin Smith Papyrus. You can read my research papers here.
